Lodgement process and anticipated time line for 457 visa applications

SMS will make a verbal offer of employment, and once you accept, SMS will provide you with Employment contract.

Once we receive your signed documentation the process to apply for a 457 visa will commence.

All 457 visas applications are lodged in Australia. Our immigration agents, Ernst & Young (E&Y) will arrange lodgement of the application on your behalf. The 457 visa is a 2 step process including:

nomination application for the position to be filled and
personal visa application.

EY will contact you to arrange completion of a questionnaire and request health checks be undertaken which are forwarded to the Department of Immigration. Once this documentation is received, the application is lodged and approval should be received within 6 weeks from the lodgement date.
