After joining SMS, Ian has assisted industry Account Directors to prepare proposals for new business opportunities and has contributed to SMS's internal professional development, social and community activities in addition to his consulting responsibilities.

Background

Ian is the archetypal business consultant: decades of hands-on experiences complemented by an illustrious educational track record. Prior to joining SMS, he worked for 16 years as an intelligence officer in the Australian Defence Force (serving in Australia, Indonesia, the USA and East Timor), then contracted for two years in the international aid, professional accounting services and weapons technology industries. 

He is a sessional lecturer for LaTrobe University MBA and Master of International Business programs as well as for Deakin University Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) education program.
